About the Show
Hosted by Jamie Charleston, this weekly radio comedy takes a smart, affectionate look at life in Silver City and Grant County. Through conversations, sketches, and satirical bits performed with local actors and guests, the show pokes gentle fun at the quirks, contradictions, and shared stories that make this place what it is. Nothing is sacred—but everything comes from a place of curiosity, care, and community. It’s a chance to laugh at ourselves, listen a little closer, and recognize the humor in living together in a small town with a very long memory.
This Week's Show
At long last I think we have taken care of the radio gremlins. They will no longer wreak havoc on our schedule of performances, we hope. And lucky for you, not only did our Monday February 9 show show air, it is available for your listening pleasure right here. This week Jamie Charleston dives into his lifelong quest for peace, happiness, and avoiding other people’s drama. From Jesus freaks to yoga mats, from Al-Anon chairs to out-of-body adventures, he’s learned a thing or two about life, love, and letting stuff go. Laugh, reflect, and maybe even find your own way to stop arguing with the universe. Listen to the show right here.
One Minute Playwriting Workshop
Come join us at Otter Chaos at 208 W. Yankie St. on February 19 from 1-3 pm for a One Minute Playwriting workshop. One minute plays are challenging and fun to write. Playwrights will be invited to write TWO or THREE or FIVE one minute plays (strictly one minute) on one relevant topic in the community. It can be: how to protest in peace, how to deal with crime, social media issues and problems, bullying, why don't people read anymore, road rage, police brutality, why we hate other people, or rutabagas. Each play will need a beginning, middle and end. Genres can be comedy, satire, irony, tragedy, heartache, anger and/or rage. To reserve your spot just drop me a line by clicking this button.

The Last Angry Brown Hat
by
Alfredo Ramos
Coming September 2026
Founded in Los Angeles in the late 1960s, the Brown Berets were an influential community-based social justice
organization which played a leading role in the Chicano Civil Rights Movement of the '60s and '70s, with history in Silver City.
Willie, JoJo, Louie, and Rude Boy all previously part of the movement, return to their hometown 25 years later for the funeral of a friend, and past member of The Brown Berets. Willie initiates a night of memories and conversations of the “old days”. As the night progresses, the different paths their lives have taken become obvious. It is a night that will reveal the realities of the present and speculation on a future that is yet to come. Will these personal revelations break them apart or only strengthen their bond further?
